MISSION OF THE LINCOLN SOCIETY OF DAYTON

Our objective is to bring back a historical moment in time of a great man, Abraham Lincoln, who changed our Nation and the History of our Country.

We want future generations to remember that moment by seeing a representation of Abraham Lincoln at the place he visited Daytonians …

  • We have acquired approval to place a bronze monumental size statue of Abraham Lincoln near the Old Court House in Downtown Dayton.
  • Our artist, Michael Major, was born in Dayton, Ohio and is a nationally known sculptor and former student of the Dayton Art Institute.
  • With 100% commitment from the Board Members along with public donations, the Lincoln Society is confident that our goal of $270,000 will be reached.
  • Our projection date for unveiling the statue is Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Courthouse Square in downtown Dayton, Ohio.
